The Public Employment Services (PES) Unit serves as a dynamic platform connecting job seekers with employers to enhance employment opportunities and foster a skilled, adaptable workforce. By offering a range of services such as career guidance, skills training referrals, job placement assistance, and entrepreneurial support, PES plays a critical role in reducing unemployment, bridging skills gaps, and promoting job creation. The Head Office hosts a dedicated Public Employment Services Division, providing oversight, guidance, and strategic leadership. Across all 25 districts, PES Centers operate under this division to ensure services reach ground-level communities, empowering individuals nationwide. The Unit works in partnership with educational institutions, vocational training centers, and private sector employers to support economic growth and provide meaningful, decent work opportunities for all. Through career fairs, networking events, entrepreneurial resources, and personalized support, PES ensures that every individual can unlock their potential and contribute to Sri Lanka’s economic development.
